A father’s earnest attempt to register his daughter’s name at the registry office resulted in a grave error, leaving him unable to even call her by her intended first name.

Expecting a baby boy throughout their pregnancy, a couple was stunned to learn during the last ultrasound that they were actually expecting a girl. This unexpected twist initially left the mother in tears, throwing tantrums and driving her husband to his wit’s end. However, with time, they came to terms with the idea of having a daughter.

The challenge arose when it came to naming their baby girl. While the husband favored the name Yaroslav, the wife strongly disagreed. After much debate and even waiting until after the birth, they still couldn’t decide on a name. Eventually, the wife suggested the name Maria, and despite some reservations, they settled on it.

However, their journey with naming their daughter took an unexpected turn when the birth certificate arrived with the name Marusya instead of Maria. Despite attempts to correct it, the bureaucracy proved unyielding, leaving the couple stuck with the unintended name.

Now, a year later, they find themselves in a peculiar situation. The name Marusya doesn’t quite sit right with the mother anymore, but Maria also feels inadequate. Yet, they continue to affectionately call their daughter Musya, navigating their way through this peculiar naming conundrum, hoping to find a solution that feels just right for their beloved daughter.
