During an audition on “America’s Got Talent,” a 12-year-old girl from Easley, South Carolina, turned a potentially disastrous moment into a memorable one.

Ansley started singing Aretha Franklin’s “Think,” but judge Simon Cowell abruptly stopped her, criticizing the background music as “horrible, horrible.”

After a brief pause, Cowell suggested that Ansley continue her performance acapella, without any music accompaniment. Despite the surprise, Ansley graciously accepted the challenge, even taking a sip of water from Cowell’s cup, jokingly called “magic water.” The audience and judges rallied behind her with enthusiastic applause.

With newfound confidence, Ansley began singing again, showcasing the poise and skill of a seasoned professional. Her performance impressed all four judges, earning unanimous “yes” votes and securing her advancement to the next round of the competition.
