“In the 1980s, Michael Winslow gained widespread recognition in America for his portrayal of Larvell Jones, a police officer famous for his sound effects, in the “Police Academy” series.

The talented voice artist also appeared in iconic films like “Gremlins” and “Spaceballs” before stepping back from the spotlight to focus on raising his children following the tragic loss of his wife. Now, with his children grown, Winslow is making a comeback attempt through “America’s Got Talent.”

“I used to be known as the man of 10,000 sound effects, but now we’re talking hundreds of thousands,” Winslow shares with host Terry Crews before his performance. “Making noises has always been a part of me since I was a kid,” he adds.

As Winslow steps onto the stage, judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara immediately recognize him. Following a brief round of introductions, he launches into his routine.

Winslow explains how his knack for sound effects developed during his upbringing as an “Air Force brat,” moving every few years. “I had to create my own friends, movies, soundtracks, and soundscapes,” he elaborates.

His performance wows the audience and judges alike as he seamlessly transitions between various sound effects, including airplane noises, radio static, and renditions of popular songs. The impressive display earns him a standing ovation from both the judges and the audience.”
