Michael Ketterer’s return to America’s Got Talent was eagerly anticipated, and he did not disappoint!

As a reminder, Michael made a memorable appearance early in Season 13 of the show, receiving the second Golden Buzzer of the season. A pediatric mental health specialist and father of six children, some of whom he adopted from foster care, Michael’s backstory alone earned him widespread admiration.

Not only is Michael a commendable individual, but he also possesses exceptional vocal talent. His audition left the judges thoroughly impressed, prompting Simon Cowell to send him straight to Hollywood!

Upon receiving the Golden Buzzer, Michael bypassed the Judges’ Cut round and advanced directly to the live performances. Simon couldn’t help but shower Michael with praise even before his second performance on AGT.

“He is incredible; he is a wonderful human being as well as a fantastic vocalist,” Simon exclaimed. “I’m overjoyed. I’m overjoyed right now. I truly, truly am!”

For his second performance, Michael chose “Us” by James Bay, a song known for its dramatic intensity. Michael’s rendition elevated the song’s emotional depth, leaving the entire audience and all four judges on their feet in applause.

When Tyra Banks turned to Simon for his feedback, the judge was visibly moved, struggling to articulate his emotions. However, Tyra encouraged Simon to share his thoughts.

“Oh my god, Michael, look at me. Oh my gosh. As a father, I understand why—I can’t imagine what you’ve done, let alone being on this program. You desperately need it, and you’re a very unique individual. I’m not sure what it is about you!”
